I do apologize for flying off the handle this morning, but I had recieved two
off-reflector posts that were very insulting about my posts on here,
regarding the legality of ordering overseas amps to use in the U.S.A. I
wouldn't have
posted my anger on here except that the insulting parties responsible had
their return e-mail blocked, and my direct replies to them were bounced. I
posted
here as apparently they read this reflector. I think not being allowed to
respond to someone, especially if they are insulting you is an act of
cowardice.
Anyway, I will consider the source next time and refrain from wasting
bandwidth on such futile endeavors.

My last remarks on solid state amps is it seems to me that a no-load / tune,
auto bandswitching, adequately protected amp would be an advantage in
contests, especially for S&P operations. Not having to retune or worry about
band
changes would allow more concentration on contacts. The only reason I mentioned
THP Co. is they seem to have a product that would fill a void in the market,
since TT discontinued the Herc, and the others are extremely expensive. A 1KW
high quality SS amp for under $3000 is a great Idea, And the THP Co. HL 2 KFX
seems to fit the bill. Of course, I would buy Ten Tec first..IF they'd offer
one. 73.
