After looking at the inside of the Jupiter, I was wondering if there is enough
room to place 897 (or other) batteries inside the Jupiter to provide portable
12v power. The manual says 1.5 amp draw on receive - probably not the best
radio for this use. Power would need to be dropped to 10 - 20 watts.
Nevertheless, reveiwing the pics on N9VV site shows a lot of room in the radio.
Perhaps the spare jack could connect to the pack and allow charging and a
jumper to the 12volt input connector would provide the power when needed?

Any thoughts?
