I'll put one more plug in for the Begali Simplex.  It is a
spring-activated paddle, but you won't find a better one, and I think the
magnetics are often more tricky to get set properly.  The Begali has a
wide range of settings available, but it's extremely precise, and once
you have it set up, it doesn't change.  A beautiful job.  Check them out
at www.i2rtf.com, and be sure to read the reviews on eham: 
http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/2665   A very excellent paddle for
$137.  Just a few bucks more than a chrome plated Bencher, and worlds
above it in construction and feel.  I sold my Schurr Profi 2 after I got
this one!
