The key to the use of the differential tuner is a differential capacitor. Visualize a T with inductor to ground and the stator of the differential capacitor. Remember that in a differental capacitor, one of the capacitances increases while that of the other decreases and vice versa. The 956 uses 2 differential capacitors in the form of an H rather than a T.
