I don't believe that has been established.
Do the vast majority of SSB ops strongly prefer VOX-- which is sort of the "QSK of SSB"-- for the same reasons?
For whatever reasons, I'll bet most hams expect a rig to have built-in
VOX capability, even if they seldom use it. I was a bit dissappointed to
find that my brand new TS-50 didn't have VOX when I bought it. When I
used to operate a lot of SSB ragchewing, I liked to use VOX in round
table discussions.
