The Ten Tec short wave listeners kit superhet uses a high conversion
frequency above 10m as well and works very well.  This is commonly done in
modern receiver designs, now.

Do you mean that 40m being between 10 and 6m might cause some problem?
Not sure if the 9000 covers 6m as I did not see the ad.
