You can transmit within 3 seconds of power on but shucks, it seems like all that power cycling on and off will do more damage to the filament than just leaving it on for 3 hours. Eimac's specs rate the filament at 20,000+ hours - i've got some 3-400Zs that are nearly 40 years old and they still work very well - i've had the amp on for days at a time. Heck i'm just picking nits. hi
