Hi Gary, Do you ALWAYS do a master reset after installing firmware? I have found this to virtually eliminate update problems(and I've done about a hundred updates on my radio associated w/ the beta checking program). Anyway, I would highly recommend doing the Master Reset after firmware update program! Know this is a SDR but guess I'm finally beginning to understand that this is a computer--and a Windows computer at that- where you might have to reboot, tweak the software settings, get it right for you and pray. While using 98, 2000 and then XP at the office for years, I've been a Mac guy at home. Bought a low end Windows laptop just for the Orion knowing that firmware came that way as did most ham software. ((the difference between Window and Mac is that with the former, I wish I had a pointed hat with stars on it and a wand. With the latter, I can usually figure it out--only cuz of experience of course)
