Here's a link to a paper I just finished on Power and Grounding for 
Audio and Audio/Video systems. While some of the material is 
specific to the needs of those systems, much of it is generic and 
applies to all systems, including ours.

The paper was commissioned by New Frontier Electronics, the 
manufacturer of SurgeX power products. They're a good company over 
in the Philadelphia area, and they make the best surge suppression 
products I know about.
