You are going to have to use the process of elimination. First eliminate the 
big things like rig, computer, software one at a time.
You can start by downloading one of several programs that do similar things 
such as Logger32. This one works fine for me on the Omni VI and it's a 
modern XP type program. It's easy to set up and try. If this makes 
everything work then we can blame your Mixw program.

Now if things still don't work it's down to the rig or the PC. Do you have 
another of either?

Knowing the Orion, and how flaky it is I would suspect it. Especially since 
all those other functions are acting up but you need to prove it by trying 
another rig. Beg or borrow some other rig and let's see what happens.
