The Carolina Windom is advertised to have a
significant vertical component to its pattern due to
the common mode current on its feedline. This is
compared to either a beam or the mystery antenna which
are likely more purely horizontal. Whether it
actually does or not I don't know, but if it does that
may account for the difference.
