I just purchased a Corsair II and remote VFO for my station Malcolm and
I expect that I will be doing PTO rebuilds as well just as a matter of
course. I just competed a PTO rebuild on a Century 21 using the factory
PTO rebuild kit. It took about two to three hours. When I took the PTO
apart I discovered serious part wearing as well as the fact that the old
grease had pretty much turned into glue. The cleaning alone was very
difficult but just replacing the grease would not have really fixed the
VFO properly... .had to replace the worn out parts. As the rebuild kits
are the same with just a different removal/replace instruction sheet I
don't believe there will be any problems rebuilding the Corsair II and
remote VFOs... just time.

If you have a situation where you do not feel you can do this rebuild
but would like to have it done perhaps I can help you in some way.
