Some veterans of this list may remember the many critical comments
about ICOM's marketing of IC-756 PRO Is, IIs, and IIIs. Yet it seems
this form of marketing is catching . . .
What the critics of ICOM missed (and the current critics of Ten-Tec are missing) is that it costs a ton to develop transceiver firmware/ software. The costs have to be recouped and the only way to do it is to offer new, upgraded (and repriced) products. Gone are the days when you could get an OMNI VI (Option 1) out of your old OMNI VI for $75.00. 73, John, W3ULS |
