I had a similar problem with the Corsaire 2. It was a loose ground connection
on the DC supply input plug on the inside of the radio. It can go loose on you
over the years and will draw lots of excess current. - Good luck de K9WWT
- also in the Orion 2 waiting pool!

100% CW, here are the symptoms.
Display flickers, when it does I'm in trouble. These symptoms are very
intermittent.
*Outboard keyer does not key rig
*incoming sigs have a chirp
*sometimes no audio
*when the audio goes, the "S" meter doesn't work

Usually does the above from a cold start. Pushing and proding does nothing.
When the display gets dimmer everything works ok. When it gets brighter one
or all the above takes place....any help appreciated....Tom N4RS
