I had the same issue with my Pegasus, but a Radio Shack clip-on torroid at the 
coax input fixed it, no reoccurrences.  Try that.

And see what you can do about a good earth ground.  Try a piece of the wide 
grounding braid available from The Wireman and others, keeping it as short as 
possible.
