A few more bits of information:

if you have a counter, probe the input of the counter for the following
frequencies:

80 meters 12.5 to 13.0 mhz
40 meter 16.0 to 16.5 mhz
30 meters 19.0 t0 19.5 mhz
and 20 meters 5.0 to 5.5 mhz

The counter "ignores" (actually the "1" is blanked) the "1" so on 80
meters the counter only counts 2.5 to 3. now "add the preset of "1""
and you see the display now shows 3.5 to 4.0 MHz.. slick!

the preset on 160, 80 and 40 meters is "1"
the preset on 30 meter is 91.00
the rest of the bands the preset is 09.000

so on 14.040 mhz, the vfo is producing 5.040 mhz, add in the preset of
09.000 and you end up displaying 14.040 mhz.

on 30 meter's there's another cheat. You have to display the leading
digit so a transistor and switching diodes ( they are hiding on the
preset/preamp pcb) combine to "turn on " the correct digit.
