The sagging power supply either does not have the inherent current ampacity needed by the Scout, (9 to 10 amps at 13.8 Volts DC) or the capacitors are going and do not have the microfarads to do the job anymore. The Scout has to have a minimum of 11.5 VDC by my Scout testing, to avoid instability. Anything less, and you are having the chirp problem if not others. Try turning down the power control on the bottom of the Scout as a temporary fix, until you hit a power draw that does not decrease the voltage of the supply under load. Stuart K5KVH |
