No, that is not true.  I got complaints of key clicks a khz away on an  Orion 
1 using the latest and greatest software without a keying loop driving 45  
watts into an AL572 with 700 watts out of an amp that will do 1200.
 
I believe I was the first person to bring this up and it generated a storm  
of protests that I didn't know what I was taking about because it "works  fine 
here."  Subsequent posts have proven me right - the rise times and  waveforms 
are off.  I am now using a stated rise time of 8 ms, which sounds  "soft" to 
me but at least I haven't had anyone break into a QSO to complain.  

Yes, the Orion software development has been a classic case of two steps  
forward and one step back with each new release.  That is progress albeit  
painful.
