I don't know for sure but can tell you that it uses the same mixing 
scheme as the black Omni rigs.  Those rigs will not properly work 17 
meters because they use a 9 MHz IF.  The local oscillator operating at 
about 9 MHz doubles and is radiated.  There are other spurious mixed 
products that are also transmitted on or about 18 MHz that vary with the 
tuning of the PTO.  When I put my Omni-C on 17 meters, it would put out 
2 or 3 watts KEY UP.
