There are some scientific equipment applications for the Astron that require floating negative power supplies. It also allows you to control where you establish your earth ground, in not having a sneak ground back thru the AC chassis ground of the power cord. If you don't care to mix your DC and AC grounds, you can ground the negative to its chassis and live with the ground loop thus created. Stuart K5KVH |
