Well that was SSB.

Now as far as CW is concerned...

First let me say that I love my IC-775, it is as I put on the reviews, the best
radio I have ever owned as far as Dxing is
concerned.

Only problem so far with the OMNI D series B, is if there is not signal on a
particular frequency, it is so quiet compared to the
ICOM (white noise) I am used to, I keep checking the A/B switch because I think
I have the A/B switch in the center (or off)
position.

I also was compelled to check the s meter readings a few times, thinking for
sure the OMNI D series B must be suffering from less
sensitivity than the ICOM because I don't hear noise from it. But, the S meter
readings are consistently 3 S units higher.

A lot of QSB on 20 today. Which I am using as a matching factor as well. Right
now I am on 14016.16 listening to Florida and Canada,
the TenTec OMNI D series B is reading the signals even when the QSB takes them
away from the ICOM receiver. Now that is simply
astounding.

Both rigs are set to max selectivity and the ICOM is set to the second PREAMP.

I don't have a "second" PREAMP on the OMNI to turn on. But then again, I don't
see a need to have one. Perhaps I will buy an
external one just for grins.

AMAZING difference. So this is what a DX radio sounds like.

Don't tell me it got even better with the series following the "B" that would
be hard to imagine for sure.

The *real* test (the bottom line for me)
will come after dark on 80 es 160 meters :0)

 Is it dark yet??

73 fer nw es gud DX,
