Dick,In 1963 at Radioman Class "A" school (6 mos) in Bainbridge, MD graduation beside a written test was 22 wpm correct copy "no mistakes" for 1/2 hour on a mill. Sounds long but 1/2 hour goes quick!

Don't know about WWII but when I arrived at the Navy squadron & went to radioman school there, I needed 18 wpm to graduate. After flying as a radioman for 2 to 3 years we normally ran at about 25-28 but I ran with 2 fellows back at the base at 32-35wpm. I had to do 28 for 3 mins to get my speed key certificate. Just wish I could do that today. Just got back into radio after 40 years and struggle to do 18 now. I know - practice, practice, practice ..... 73, Dick ......... ____________________________________________________________________________________Get your own web address.
