You can substitute aluminum wires with the proper connectors for the copper wires. Just be sure to use the larger gauge over what copper gauge you would use. There are electrical wiring books at the Home Center stores that have tables of what size aluminum is equal to no. 6 copper for example. Use of the anti-oxidation grease and aluminum/ copper rated connectors is perfectly safe and compatible wiring substitution for high priced copper.
