Mike,
I echo Steve's results. I have driven both an Acom 2000A and a QRO HF2500
with my Orion II and my Orion, and both deliver full output at very low
drive. Both run 4CX800 tubes which are very high gain bottles.
How much output are you getting from the Orion? If you're not getting 1500
watts plus with less than 50 watts drive, there is a problem somewhere. You
should be able to drive the pants off your 8100.
Have you checked the amp output into a dummy load?
