I have the CW version in my OMNI VI. It works fine, but
I have not noticed a huge difference at my isolated QTH.
Only a couple of times in A/B testing has it really been
noticable. My operating is 100% contest related, mostly
S&P, with competition-sized antennas and respectable
scores for low power. But, of course, you don't know
what you can't hear if you can't hear it!
Remember, the stock OMNI VI is better than most of the Inrad modified radios,
such as the FT1000MP, so there isn't as
much easy improvement to be had.
