Suggest checking the DC voltage as it enters the rig (on the plug) for low voltage or voltage drop on XMIT.

Simple to check and simple to fix with larger wire. Should be almost no drop of voltage at all.

The Omni VII and Orion I and II are computers in a box with knobs and buttons on the front.

They both get very unhappy about low voltage or voltage drop as do all CPU's.

Good luck and 73,

My new Omni VII has been on the desk for about 2 weeks. It gets used
several hours per day. I find that it is solid as a rock, both frequency
and power. I've not found the first problem, glitch or issue with the
radio. The power supply is an Astron SS-30M.

Has anyone heard about power level changing and frequency stability
problems with this rig? A friend (W5CSU) is having such problems from his
NEW Omni VII after one month.
