After using my new Omni VII for several weeks now I haven't decided if it is
band conditions/atmospheric conditions but the background "rush" noise seems
higher than I recall with the Omni VI Plus.
For SSB operation, what numbers do you find most effective on the NR setting
and also the AN function? Also, what artifacts do you observe with these
activated?
The radio performance is outstanding in my book and I really enjoy using it.
I've not come across anything that is of concern, find it easy to use, and
enjoy the new features. It seems quite solid.
Transmit audio is reported "the best I've heard on the band". I use a SSB TX
bandwidth of 3000, the TX Roll off at 200 Hz. and TX Equalizer at -6 dB. Those
settings with the 708A mike get great results.
I'd like to hear of your findings, settings and results.
