Hi,

I did some digging in the reflector archive and I found that in some
of the older manuals the the tx audio board trimmer caps that adjust
all the BFO frequencies for SSB, cw, and other modes, are in some
cases, incorrectly designated. Stuff like the manual may say C5 is
cw but it's really something else (this is just an example to
illustrate--not an actual error!). In later manuals the information
is correct. If I were doing an alignment I'd simply call the service
dept. and get the Omni 6 repair tech. on the phone and ask him which
caps do what--have ur manual open to the tx audio board page and take
notes.

As others have said, it's important to have the right test equipment.
It's also important to have the rig under a bright light, some
dime-store magnifying glasses (if u over 40) and a plastic tweek tool.
don't use one of those metal jeweler's screwdrivers as you will
detune the circuit.

GL & happy new year
