 Just as a follow-up to Doc's message:

 U.S. postal money orders are not negotiable in Canada.  But U.S. post 
offices also sell International Money Orders, which _are_ cashable 
without difficulty at post offices here. 

 Like others, I prefer to use PayPal.  Never had a problem, either 
sending or receiving.
