in cw model, the zero beat button defeats the RIT(offset tuning) and the 750 hz built-in offset - so you hear zero beat. When you release the button, the signal is peaked for the 750 hz transmit shift and audio filter passband. Would suggest tuning and zero beating with RIT turned off - hear a signal, press button, go to zero beat, release button - then use offset as needed. Vox gain - is like microphone gain, adjusts amount of sound needed to turn rig to transmit - call TenTec service, buy a manual - the rig is fun, very good keying and very good receiver - Dave K8BBM _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/tentec |
