Guys:If anyone would like a PDF of the cable wiring email me off the reflector and I will get it to you. It helped me a lot. 73's Bill N3WM Date: Wed, 30 Jul 2008 10:46:34 -0400 To: Ten Tech Reflector From: Bill Mellema <mellema@qis.net> Subject: OMNI VII ESD Revisited Cc: "Jack Burchfield" <jburchfield@tentec.com>I rewired my D104 Mic with a 8 Pin cable I got from TT..the ESD issue has gone away. Pin 5 on the O7 is chassis ground and is the pin to use for PTT common and Mic audio shield. The cable has two wires within the shield for Mic - and Mic +.. I didn't realize the connectors on the front of the 07 are not connected to chassis ground. When Jack Burchfield of TT explained this to me the ESD solution became much clearer. Now the ESD bleeds to the chassis ground via Pin 5.73's Bill N3WM Bill Mellema B&J Communications Inc. 2230 Ridgemont Drive Finksburg, Maryland 21048 410-861-8199 Fax 410-861-8605 Cell 410-790-6072 Bill Mellema B&J Communications Inc. 2230 Ridgemont Drive Finksburg, Maryland 21048 410-861-8199 Fax 410-861-8605 Cell 410-790-6072 |
