Never have had that experience with any rig.? A 500 watt signal wiping out 20KC
(KHz, whatever) of the band?

Something else was in play there.? Had to be.

Was using the Jupiter on Friday night and a very loud signal came up next me.?
Twisted the DSP and got him gone.

Yes, the OMNI VI is a better receiver as is the OMNI VII.

But your experience with a hunk of that spectrum that wide?? I've never even
had that with an old MFJ QRP rig.

Never had a Jupiter but did have a Pegasus and sent it back! Got on there BLACK
LIST :-) A lot depends on your operating I think! I contest, not the endless
cqing but search and pounce. When I first got the Pegasus I thought " WOW ,
this is an amazing rig " and then I got near a guy only running 500 watts and
he wiped 20 KCs of the band ! Totally blanked it out! I tried the Omni 6 and no
problem, I could get near the same guy and not even know he was on the air
until I got into his pass band! Back it went :-) Now they MAY have done some
work on the front-end of the Jupiter and just not saying it, I don't know, but
if it is a Pegasus with a knob I wouldn't want one. Might be a great rig for
casual SSB contacts with other hams running 100 watts or less, I don't know. I
do have a Omni 7 and it is a totally different beast and can run with the big
boys without any problems but it has roofing filters and a 32 bit DSP in the
back end and costs a whale of a lot more !! My two cents
 worth ...................?
