> Iam confused about the use of the? BPF/FADE control. This control....or
controls.... take a full? flat audio signal and makes? it able to cut the audio
pass band from flat to 220 to 1700 by a combination of the 2 pots? If this
curcuit was not working like it should would this not result maybe in the tinny
audio Iam getting? the fade does cause some action to the audio,? past mid
scale
with the fade knob, results in 0 audio in usb, never used it in lsb. the BPF
seems to have NO effect on the audio signal.

I don't have a Omni V. I do have a Paragon II, which has FADE and BP
controls. These controls work in the audio path, so whatever they do,
they should do pretty much the same regardless of which sideband you are
using. If your BFO frequencies on either sideband is misadjusted so that
you have a big difference in audio bandpass from one sideband to the
other, then the FADE and BP controls could seem to be working
differently in opposite sidebands. They would really be functioning the
same, but working with a different character of audio feed from the
product detector, it could seem different.

If one or both of the FADE and BP potentiometers were scratchy or had
dead spots, you could definitely get tinny audio. Other failed
components or bad connections in those circuits could do it too. Again,
it would do it equally to either sideband.

"Never used it in LSB" ??? It would be good to see what happens there
too. That might add a few more pieces to the puzzle.
