Yes, that was precisely the point I was making. I tell the same
thing to people who complain that the Corsair (for example)
is "noisy". Sometime back in 1963 or so I learned to run the
AF gain higher and the RF gain lower and have never looked
back. That worked on my WW2 surplus receiver and it still
works now.
