Well, yes I know you can bias 833 to operate as a linear amp. I just
don't know whether this particular unit had a setting for that. I got
the impression that it was primarily a class C, CW or FSK unit. And I
don't recall a modulator in the box. Just one pair of 833s for RF
amplification.
