I found the internal processor on the Orion 2 to be better (my ears
definition) than the 715. Spending hours trying to adjust the 715 was not
productive because the 715 never sounded better than the internal unit set
at "7" for the processor, "29" for the mic gain and pretty much a continuous
ALC light when transmitting. When I use a headset with the HC-5 element, I
increase the mic gain by 10 points to a "39." I normally operate with a
Heil Heritage dynamic pro mic to take advantage of the balanced input on the
Orion 2.
