Probably most of these add on audio DSP units have both a noise reduction mode which maintains the full bandwidth of the input audio, and a bandpass filter mode which lets reduced bandwidth of of audio through. When the bandwidth is limited we call this selectivity, whether it is done in the IF or in the audio stages.I don't understand the bit about it adding greater selectivity. It is an audio filter, which applies after the radio has completed its work.I cannot see how it would improve "selectivity" - it merely uses an algorithm to reduce background noise.
