No ham gear needs the amplified microphone. All has enough audio gain
and is in danger of being overdriven to distortion with any amplified
microphone made for CB. 

Googling Turner "m+2" the first hit downloaded a manual that shows a 9
volt transistor battery. The second hit says a Duracell 675P Mercury
battery. That's not made anymore. Though a 675 or pr44 zinc-air cell is
said to fit.
