I really liked my 1208 transverter.  I used it with my Argonaut II, and 
worked all continents with 8 watts during the last F2 peak feeding a 
Hy-Gain 4 element beam at 50 feet.  I gave it to a friend to get him on 
6 meters and built an Elecraft transverter.  I have not noticed much of 
an improvement in performance with the much more expensive Elecraft 
unit, and it also has been a bear to get some bugs worked out of it.  I 
wish Ten Tec still made these transverters.  They were certainly hard to 
beat at the price.
