Plug it in. The LEDs on the front panel tell you which VFO is doing what.
Mode 6 is cool, the two vfos are BOTH on for RX, allowing you to listen to
two things at the same time.

Hope your dial cord is still good...BTW, dial restringing is not in the 243
manual. And if you want one, email me, as I have spare one, downstairs in my
flooding basement (otherwise I'd have answered directly...)

The basic Shure desk mic (450 series?) works for me.
