I accidently found out how to keep my Orion 2 sweep screen from turning red
with the newest software.
This last January while dusting off the radio I turned on the VOX. I did
not realize this until I spoke to my wife and the relay in the amp
clicked. I ID and then turned the VOX off.
To keep from doing this again I turned the VOX trip rate up to 100%.
After two weeks I realized the red sweep that was a everyday problem was
gone.
I waited another week and turned the trip rate back down to 10% and with
in two hours the screen turned red.
I turned the trip level back up and no red screen for three months until
today when I turned the trip level back down to 10%.
Can someone tell me how the VOX circuit effects the sweep or is this
something that only works with my O2.
