Thanks, Jerry.

I've used DeOxit on my Paragon pots, but the improvement has been only temporary. I have another contact cleaner that I can try, but I'll also look at the Mouser pots that you mentioned.

For regular sized pots, look for the RV4 types, for minatures look for RV6 types at Mouser and Digi-Key.

Cramolin makes a special cleaner for pots saying DeoxIT may soften the carbon layer. I've not used anything but DeoxIT though but so far I've been able to replace noisy pots.

You're welcome. I have the dead receiver problem, too, but transmitting

corrects it.

The pots on my Paragon periodically become scratchy and need to be
cleaned. I think that Ten Tec just used cheap pots in the Paragon.
Really good potentiometers like the old Allen Bradley, Clarostat, and
Centralab are hard to find, especially in a miniature size.

The front panel is on hinges. Take off the top and bottom covers. There
will be a screw on each side of the front panel. Remove these 2 screws

not to put any strain on the potentiometer leads, or the phenolic on the
back of the pot will break.
Hi Bob,

THANKS MUCH for posting this! Last night I was able to get a little
Deoxit into the RF gain pot but was really struggling with how I was
going to access the other pots. This will make it much easier and I
really appreciate it!

thanks much and 73,
