The Eagle has performance specs almost equal to the Omni VII. It has much better specs than the Jupiter. And this radio also has a 9 mhz first IF so adding things like LP-Pan will be easy. Think of this radio as an Omni VII without ethernet.

I want to take a look UNDER the hood of this Eagle. I still like the way a
desktop PC is constructed. Make everything possible on plug in units with extender cables optional for those who want to work on their own equipment.
Put test voltages and resistance reading back on the schematic diagrams
(like in a Century 21 owners manual). Lets not have 18 or more screws to
remove from a cabinet just to open it up to look at it. Two screws are all
that I have to remove to open the top of my Century 21.

I'm just not getting the comparison with the K3 at all. The Eagle
looks to be a no bells and whistles basic radio with a single
excellent receiver. I see its significance MUCH more as what is going
to follow on from it, with the technology TT is demonstrating that
they have newly developed in-house.

As far as the K3 comparison, just look at the two rear panels
side-by-side: http://n1eu.com/rearpanels.jpg
There's a limit to how much TT will cram into that one ACC1 connector
