Whatever you do, avoid getting an old Murch Ultimate Transmatch UT-2000
unless you like a tuner box full of purple fire.

Subject: [TenTec] Tuners

This is just a short note to thank Richards K8JHR
for taking the time to give me his take on the tuner
considerations for replaceement of a failed one. The
time spent getting opinions and doing my own research
this past week or two has been both fun and a learning
experience. First I realized that I may not even need
a tuner replaced due to the type of antenna that I am
using and the ability to tune the antenna. Second, my
views were reinforced to research your needs and buy quality.
That is why the majority of my station is Ten Tec. I will
buy a tuner but it will probably be a larger capacity manual
tuner like the TT 229 or 238; a used Palstar; or maybe a
good ole Dentron. Thanks again. 73s
