It is definitely NOT a type C. Type C is the same size
as type N but is a bayonet instead of threaded connector
(a maxi BNC, so to speak).

Type C is my absolute favorite coax connector.
 
It would appear that the connetor on the 82A is one that
would have been used on the old RG-17/U coax.
 
I don't know the type number, but will try to research it
later today in my old 73 Magazine Coax Handbook.
