We saw a similar trend when the Orion and Omni VII were released. It will happen anytime that Ten-Tec comes up with a new radio that trumps the older technology.

Dumping - eh? That's the premise? ;-)

I have seen no dumping personally unless one considers $1000 on a (minimum) 10
year old radio a sacrifice.

I have a seen guys line up in the 70's to rid themselves of that old tech
Collins (tube) gear at fire sale prices, to make room for that nice TS820, etc.
Eventually that trend turned - and howdy. ;-)

We are living in the golden age of cheap transceivers, old and new, lately I
have been enjoying the old more than the new. !!!
