I paid 485.00, 7 months ago, a nice clean and fully operating rig. Most the
6n2's I looked at were 475-550.00 .
thanks

Subject: [TenTec] 526 AKA "6N2" value?

Greetings all,

In the process of conversation with a local ham friend he mentioned that

another local ham was considering putting up a 6M beacon. I became involved

as a "resource person" on a couple of peripheral issues, but to make a long

story short apparently the "beaconer" in question has a 526 that he's had

sitting around for a while and was considering using it for the beacon TX. My

reaction was that from what I understand 526s are in demand and holding their

price fairly well. I've suggested that if the 526 were put on the market it

would probably bring enough to finance most if not all of the project. Then

the "beaconer" could pick up a cheap older 6M rig or a surplus commercial TX

that would be better suited for that particular application. (I guess i just

view dedicating a 526 to beacon service to be somewhat of a waste....)

So, what's a 526 in nice/decent shape worth ("ballpark")? Comments on my take

on the situation?

TNX/73, Al
