I agree...I usuually set my RF gain just at the noise level...works 
super...just like using a Boat Anchor RX.....back when we actually had 
to use RF gain to make it work well

One more thing.......

Never use any outboard (DSP) processor for the audio. The greatest 
asset of the
ORION is its ability of a wonderfull recovered audio presentation.

Use your RF Gain, never set it above 90. Ever. Not even on 10/12mtrs.
