You realize when you do this you are essentially turning AGC off and running manual AGC. That's the way we ran the old radios in the 50's and the way I used to run my Collins 75A1. I like to think the new radios have much better AGC and this is no longer necessary.

Is there anyone out there who has a Corsair II that can give me some
information.  I am looking for the setting on the RF Gain control when the
signal disappears.  If you are looking at the control from the front, what
is the setting on the scale does the signal disappears?  The control is wide
open at the 10 position and then you rotate counter-clockwise to reduce the
gain.  Appreciate some feedback.
