[TenTec] Omni-D Frequency Display Problem

I have an question  for the group. My very nice Omni-D as started to show all 
E's in the frequency display on pwr-up. All other functions work ok, TX, 
RX. This will be my first time having to take the covers off after I locate my 
manual?  I would suspect the counter board, for starters sense VFO tracks the 
movement on the spinner dial on RX and TX.  Any thoughts on the matter would be 
appreciated.
